Tasting Notes:
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic example of the "Rutherford dust" character that is so easily lost with aggressive winemaking.
Deep ruby/purple in color with initial aromas of sweet berry pie, cassis liqueur and spice. After some air, rich black cherry, cigar box, blackberry and vanilla toast continue to the perfectly rounded mid-palate. Wild berries and black currants intermingle with tea and dusty earth notes to culminate in a beautifully integrated and balanced finish. Once again, this wine continues to impress with its balance and structure.
Vineyards:
Our fruit comes from the beautiful Round Pond Estate vineyards. Each row has been selected and meticulously tended to by our winemaker to insure that each vine produces the highest quality fruit showing the unique, alluvial Rutherford soils that resulted from the changing path of Conn Creek and the Napa River over the last several thousand years.
